jakeuk1 0
an old shooting friend of mine used to make cones of paper, place a bit of corn/wheat in the middle and smear the rim with quicklime. These were placed along hedgerows and in furrows early morn, when the pheasants after the corn/wheat got their heads stuck in the cones, if he was quiet he could just pick them up. Waz 4,252
when growing up in a old gypsy caravan the local squire had upset us locals trying buy the land from locals . my father the local mechanic. was a poacher of the old school It was coming to a shoot day me and my dad used raisons and dates tied to cotton to lure all the phessies into a bag...needles too say the squire was very embarrsed by his lack of phessies in front of his guests..Squire Coltraine was furious and my dad Jeremy and me were very happy... Sounds champion that.
