hi does anybody feed there ferrets day old chicks.if so where do use get them from.

i dont, feed them their natural food dont want or permissions getting upset with a lost ferret killing poultry

we feed DoC once a week...

 

not as a staple for sure they aren't as full in nutrients as needed

 

we get ours from a pet store or honey brook farms

 

petstores run between 4-10p per chick and online is cheap providing you buy in bulk lol

I see it as the same amount of nutrients as an egg. they like to have a few every now and again though

i buy them for my reptiles and such at livefoods.com or frozendirect fairly cheap (cheaper the more you buy)

so your saying, if a hungary lost ferret, that had NOT been feed day old chicks, found its way into a hen house, it would'ent try to eat them

you need more than day old chicks try raw meat or dry food

i feed my ferrets doc a couple of times a week ,mine love them and they are great for kits cos they get a good balance of meat/bone ratio in their diet

Ok novice question here but... isn't there something about DoC's that causes hair loss (or some other problems) in ferrets? don't know where I heard but so thought I'd better ask...

Thats only if you feed to many, as they are full of protein. They are good food once a week or so but I wouldnt only feed them.

 

Sorry have got to ask, it has been bugging me for ages lol. Is that a dead horse in your avatar?! lol i cant see it very well.
