Walk with the 80...

Recommended Posts

Had a sly mooch with scoob this afternoon. this is the first time i have had him out shooting since his accident and he is very unfit, but hopefully after a month of constant use he may just get his shape back a little. We walked all over but never saw anything, but i spotted a well used drey that was obviously an old maggies nest and i gave it a shake. A little snout appeared but it was loath to break cover, but in the end this critter tried to make a dash for it. My Hw80 sent a Logun Penetrator through the squirrels vitals and that was that. Possibly the quietest afternoon out wiht the gun i have ever had, but it was good to get my dog out again......... :good:

if u dont mind me asking j.d what was the accident that scoob had cheers king :good:

he was hit by a car mate. outside my house of all places. he had his heart ripped off of its mounting on the sturnum, punctured a lung, ripped his spleen, badly ruptured his liver and both his kidneys were so badly damaged that they looked like bags of blood. the dog lost so much blood that he should have been dead, and the vet told me that there was very very little chance of the dog making it  But you just gotta try, and i know he is not the best dog in the world, but he is my dog and while there was a breath in his body i wasnt going to give in. His recovery was nothing short of a miracle. the poor dog couldnt lay down as he was in pain and his chest was filling up with air from his lung. we drained 625 ml of air from his chest cavity, which is larger that a pint of milk!!!! to give a size to the volume of air!!!! it was about 5 days that he took his forst mouthful of food and from there onwards he just got stronger and stronger. we brought him home from the vets the day before xmas eve and it was the best xmas pressie i have ever had.
