tote 856
I couldn't help myself with the topic title Bob's on the job as my youngest son Brodie who's 2 is hooked on Bob the builder and I must hear "Bob's on the job" all day long. Anyway back to tonight, with rain falling and a decent blow I went round to Jimmy's and we took his dog Bob out for a shine. Bob missed the first rabbit but then took the next three. I thought the rabbits were running pretty poorly and when we checked them two of them had a touch of mixy. We saw two foxes in the second field,Bob hasn't been introduced to "charlie" yet but Jimmy is keen for him to have a go.I tried squeaking them in but they were having none of it and dissapeared into cover. We made our way round the farm,Bob picked up another 2 rabbits from half a dozen runs then we arrived back at the last field. I lamped a rabbit from the gate,Jimmy put Bob over into the field and after a nice run he nailed the rabbit. While Bob messed about with the rabbit[he doesn't do retrieving] I noticed a fox in the middle of the field. I gave it a couple of small squeaks and it moved forwards, Bob however was out in the field with a feckin' rabbit in his mouth. Well I just kept calling and the fox kept coming. All of a sudden it was on the move with Bob in pursuit,he'd dropped the rabbit and came in from the side of the beam. After a short run the fox dived into a large patch of gorse and Bob followed it in,that's when the beam lost them.It took a while for Bob to come back into sight and he was away up in the top corner of the field heading back when we saw him next. He'd had a good chase at it out of the beam but hadn't manage to connect with it, there's every chance he'll get a grip of one this season. Pic from tonight. Quote Link to post
