i went ferreting yesterday and my mate was using nets with no draw cords or strings. they work fine but does anyone else do it?

you must be taking the p1ss, how the hell do they work, ive had rabbits hit nets that have snagged and not closed and the rabbit ran straight through it, flung the net outa the way! cant see how theyd work with no drawcord

They used to use them a lot, and they do work, the only trouble is when you get one back netted, it takes the net and lot down the hole.

When I was young and inocent of the ways of ferreting I bought six nets from E&M with my school dinner money.Came without pegs. I did'nt realise they had to be pegged down until I saw a picture in The BFFS ferreting booklet. . Believe me ,nets without pegs really do not work very well!

As for the "swivel" rings. I'd have thought anything that added needless friction on the draw-cord would be a step backwards. Draw-cords rigged the easy-slip way running through decent rings do it for me but each to his own.
