wambamboo 1
Hi guys, Just came back from the gunsmiths with a couple of boxes of steel shot cartridges 32g No 5. I asked for some advice on my purchase in the shop .But noticed on the box when I got home it said make sure your gun carries proof mark "steel shot" In the shop they didn`t mention this . Is it ok to use these or is it a NO NO ??? As my gun marks don`t mention steel shot . Thanks in advance Wam

tom1cameron 1
Went back to the gunsmiths they said the Zabala and Baikel were fine to use them through ,but not the baikel . sounds like you need to educate your gunsmith before he/she causes an accident. You cant put high performance steel through any gun that is not marked as steel proof, but you can put standard steel through standard proofed modern guns, check the basc website for more info. The link is on an earlier post on this forum

tom1cameron 1
[ how do u no if ur gun is steal proofed? [what kind of stamp or what ...[ The proof mark is a "Fluer de Lys", or in laymans terms, like a World Scouting badge. The gun should be proofed to at least 1370bar, and at this point I am not so sure of the details as it could be proofed to 1370bar but not have the steel shot proof symbol, again read the BASC handout which is taken from the CIP regs, which due to their (the CIP that is) is not released in english, only french!
