Don't want to knock anyone for their beliefs but no need for dick heads or plonkers name calling.

 

 

In the old days we weren't stupid enough to work ferrets with lines round there necks :wallbash:

 

is it just me, or does this come across as a personnal vendetta against mod's or just me in general

as it seems you can call them stupid, but I cant use the word dickhead,

prehaps you could pm me a list of words that are acceptable for me to use

I would advise any new ferreter to fit a locater collar on each ferret they are going to enter, that way you stand a good chance of getting all your ferrets back.

However there is another method and that is to use 1 collar on one ferret.That ferret would be the one which would have been the line ferret,usually a strong unsociable hob that will find and stay with the kill until dug to.

Hobs like that in my opinion are like rocking horse sh*t,you are more likely to lose him than any other, ie collar stops working goes to deep.

The line is only any good if you have the ferret to go with it.I certainly do agree Stubby if anyone was to use a line as you say he would be a (not wise).P1

[bANNED TEXT] im not arguing with anyone and if iv upset anyone pm me and keep it of this open forum i have stated that i have used this method my self but i lost 3 jills with this method when i put my hob down nothing came of it i waited for hours the jills wich i prefer to use must of got out threw a bolt hole iv nothing against old times but you were riding a pennie farthing are you still riding one now,like i say pm me

Not using locators is irresponsible and unnecessary and if you cant or wont buy one and use one then you should jsut forget about ferreting atogether.

For the record it is possible to ferret and bag a few bunnies and NOT LOSE a fert without a collar.If you know what you are doing!!!

 

As i said for the youger lads and lads just starting up and dont have a mentor to give them advice then by all means its a good thing.And for lads like me its a peace of mind.
