Bobo 135 Posted March 10, 2006 Report Share Posted March 10, 2006 They're to protect the birds feet from bites incase they catch something like a stoat,rat or squirrel when you're out rabbiting with them as often happened to me when i had my male harris,half the time you don't even see what the birds flying until its caught it if its just following on. They,re squirrel chaps which i,ve gotta put on my pair to hunt them as they love playing a game with squirrels ( Its called murder ) usually when they catch em they get their feet bitten all to hell but with these they get bitten but it doesn,t damage their feet.Bloody good insurance against vet bills.
