Another Cracking Day at the Bunnies

Recommended Posts

Today we completed the second day of our rabbit contract and took a further 18 bunnies from about 6 small warrens.

They bolted well and we missed a few from unseen bolt holes and the ferrets killed in a couple of times.....but we had no long lay-ups. Once again we finished the day with a nice bag of rabbits........and a nice bag of apples as well. The dog worked well and caught a few rabbits that slipped the nets...........the long net halted the others in their tracks.

Some lovely pics, again!! :notworthy: Looks a beautiful area Rolfe.

Foxy.......it is a beautiful part of Northamptonshire...lovely rolling hills and and prime rabbiting country. Any rabbit caught way out hiding in the nettles........has a long run before finding safety........and most never make it...the lurchers see to that ;) That is the view from the old Manor House........we were ferreting the steep banks and it was a sheer pleasure to be out in such wonderful surroundings. The Manor House........is now a brain injury rehabilitation centre........hence the need to remove the rabbits.

Guest foxyjo.

I've never been to Northamptonshire Rolfe, but your photos always seem to have beautiful backgrounds, so it must be a lovely county. I was out last night with Lucy on a friends estate, and there's something quite...warming, for want of a better word, about being in those surroundings. Old trees, and old stone, and that sense of timeless-ness. Maybe I'm too sentimental and soppy!!! :icon_redface::D

Nah..........not sentimental and soppy Foxy.........its when you truly come alive... being at one with nature and the elements is a feeling that cannot be described in words..........you can only "feel" that warm feeling when you fully understand the beauty of the countryside.
