I know what you mean. The German dogs can be a little sharp. Still, you can't beat 'em in the field I think. Quote Link to post
kurzhaar-directory 0
Hello, We would like to explain what is purpose of this project. The main purpose is creating a useful collection of website addresses of breeders, owners, clubs and general websites dedicated to the breed. The difference between the GSP and DK is in the selection method. In most European countries breeders don't follow the DKV breeding rules (excepting Germany and Austria), therefore we didn't made distinction between those breeders, because the methods of selection are specifical to each country. As a particular case we can mention Italy where there are typical italian lines selected for Field Trial (grande quete or grande cerca - big search in high speed). This also happens in USA and Canada where the breed is split in DK and GSP. Because in USA and Canada there are many breeders of both types (mainly GSP though), we decided to post their links into 2 different categories (NADKC and AKC registered). The directory is named Kurzhaar Directory because we had to choose a name but we couldn't find a name that would please all the selection methods, therefore we chose to use the official name of the breed as in the German standard. Our wish was to made it a useful tool all over the world and we are opened to any suggestions and discussions because we want this directory to be yours not ours. Quote Link to post
