Guest ooty
as long as they are both prodomanatly dark merle yes, skin problems arise when you use white merles, and you can put mother to son,its called line breeding as long as you out x every few generations, cant rember how meny off hand, Quote Link to post

lamper12 30
what the point in line breeding when the dog only got one line about them 'hancock',dont worry hes carrying that line along just fine. if they was the last couple of dogs in a line why not?but what your on about mate is pointless.... atb,lamper12. DevoidOvTalent 0
breeding merle to merle will produce one fourth full colored dogs, one half merles and one fourth defective whites. Statistically that is what should be produced the the genetic cookie does not always crumble according to the statistics. I know a woman who had an accidental breeding between two merle rough collies, six pups and only one was normal. The rest were deaf and blind with malformed eyes and had to be euthanized. For me personally, I could not do a breeding I knew had such a large chance of producing defective pups that would have to be put down. Quote Link to post

Absolutely spot on STATISTICALLY is a big word for mother nature and she does it her way and has n't read the theories of genetics Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
