dEs 6
Heres one of my favourite ''hunting'' song lyrics anyway.. I've only heard it sung once, which was about 3 years ago when i was first over in fell country but it was amazing and it stuck with me. I don't know the exact tune but thanks to another site i was able to get the words. I heard it recited the year after (The guy that sang it wasn't there) but it just wasn't the same.. If anyone knows the tune i would be truly grateful. I've heard rumours theres someone from the Pennine sings it???? Baldie may know....?? Just reading it gives you the jitters but you wanna hear it sung The Old Blue Pye. I'm a lean old, mean old sight in a street With a foolish, ghoulish glare at a man, And my kennel mates look grand at a meet With a bloom on the Belvoir tan. And they sneer and gape at my colour and shape And my veteran, villainous bloodshot eye, For the crowds that swarm round fashion and form Pass over the old Blue Pye. CHORUS: But the huntsman knows what a hound can do, And he knows that I know that he knows it, too. He knows my voice on a fox is true, And the blood of a fox my joy - So I clear my way through the thick of the pack, To where he sits on the bay mare's back, With his 'Poor old Vagabond, Vagabond, Vagabond, Poor old Vagabond boy' I'm a hard old, scarred old, quarrelsome brute, I'm a peevish, thievish, bundle of bone, But I'll speak to a fox when the rest are mute On a line as cold as stone. Oh, the Belvoir blood is gallant and true On a scent you could eat when it hangs breast high, But the casting vote on a doubtful note Is left to the old Blue pye CHORUS: And the huntsman knows what a hound can do, And he knows that I know that he knows it, too. He knows my voice on a fox is true And the blood of a fox my joy - So clear the way for the pick of the pack When he waves us in from the bay mare's back, With his 'Leu Leu Vagabond, Vagabond, Vagabond, Leu Leu Vagabond boy' I'm a stinking, blinking beast on a bench, I'm a sulking, hulking bully at home, But I'm king of the sport of kings as I wrench Thro' the woods where the red rogues roam, And my fine sleek mates must bury their hates And gather and gallop to get to the cry When the brushwood rocks and the word is fox, On the faith of the old Blue pye. CHORUS: For the huntsman knows what a hound can do, And he knows that I know that he knows it, too, He knows my voice on a fox true, And the blood of a fox my joy - So clear your way to the pick of the pack When he wakes the woods from the bay mare's back With his 'Huick to Vagabond, Huick to Vagabond, Oh, huick to Vagabond boy!' I'm a creepy, sleepy slug in the straw, But endure as sure as fate on the line And a fox must make the most of his law When the set of his mask is mine. And the riders troop to the shrill 'Who-whoop!' On staggering horses, and steeds that sigh As word goes round that a fox was found And killed by the old Blue Pye. CHORUS: For the huntsman know what a hound can do, And he knows that I know that he knows it, too, He knows my voice on a fox is true, And the blood of a fox my joy - As he fights his way to the thick of the pack Where my jaws are crushing a wet red back, With his 'Leave him Vagabond, Vagabond, Vagabond Leave him Vagabond boy' Good Hunting.. Guest ferretlass
Brain Damage (Waters) 3:50 The lunatic is on the grass. The lunatic is on the grass. Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs. Got to keep the loonies on the path. The lunatic is in the hall. The lunatics are in my hall. The paper holds their folded faces to the floor And every day the paper boy brings more. And if the dam breaks open many years too soon And if there is no room upon the hill And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. The lunatic is in my head. The lunatic is in my head You raise the blade, you make the change You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane. You lock the door And throw away the key There's someone in my head but it's not me. And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear. And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. "I can't think of anything to say except... I think it's marvelous! HaHaHa!" ruby 7
Shout if you will, but that just won't do. I for one would rather follow softer options. I'll take the easy line, another a sip of wine, and if I ignore the face you wore it's just a way of mine to keep from flying colours. I thought we had it out the night before, and settled old scores but not the hard way. Was it a glass too much,or a smile too few? Did our friends all catch the needle match- did we want them to? In a fanct restaurant we were all aglow keeping cool by mutual permission. How did the conversation get to where we came to blows? We were set up in a red condition and again were flying colours. Shout-but you see it still won't do. With my colours on I can be just as bad as you. Have I had a glass too much?Did I give a smile too few? Did our friends all catch the needle match- did we want them to? We act our parts so well like we wrote the play All so predictable and we know it. We'll settle old scores now,and settle the hard way. You may not even live to outgrow it! Once again were flying colours. Lyrics from Flying Colours off the Broadsword and The Beast album by Jethro Tull Ruby
Jordan 1
Sorry lads pink floys fan myself : So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have you found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. Or some metallica : Say your prayers little one Dont forget, my son To include everyone Tuck you in, warm within keep you free from sin till the sandman he comes sleep with one eye open gripping your pillow tight CHORUS Exit, light Enter, Night Take my hand we're off to never-never land Somethings wrong, shut the light heavy thoughts tonight And they aren't of snow white dreams of war, dreams of liars dreams of dragon's fire and of things that will bite sleep with one eye open gripping your pillow tight CHORUS SOLO Now I lay me down to sleep (x2) I pray the lord my soul to keep (x2) If i die before i wake (x2) I pray the lord my soul to take (x2) Hush little baby, don't say a word Never mind that noise you heard It's just the beasts under your bed In your closet, in your head CHORUS (replacing 'take....land with 'grain of sand) CHORUS
spindolero 1,111
You don't remember Macsen, Nobody knows him; Sixteen hundred years Is too long to remember; When Magnus Maximus left Wales In the year 383 He left us a complete nation; And today -- look at us! We're still here We're still here In spite of everything In spite of everything We're still here Let the wind blow from the East Let the storm roar from the sea Let the lightning split the heavens And the thunder roar its encore Let the tears of the weak-hearted flow Let the servile lick the floor Despite the blackness around us We are ready for the breaking of the dawn! We remember that Macsen the Emperor left our country in one whole piece, And we will shout before all nations "We'll be here until the Judgement Day!" Despite every filthy traitor Despite old Maggie and her crew, We'll be here until the end of time, And the Welsh language will live!
