hi all

you guys have proberly been asked before but ...HOW DO I START A DOG JUMPING???

I have 2 young dogs that are just starting out but i cant get them to jump ...how can i get them to start any ideas .....cheers dex

Well with mine i just started him off on small fences/walls to build his confidence up... then gradually get higher fences for him...

i used to get mine in the garden and but a very small obstical , get the dog playing with a toy, then i would throw it over the obsicle most of the time they would jump it with out a second thought, then i gradually made it higher and then every time they jumped ide say over, but dont make the obstical to big to start of with you want it nice and small .

Yeah start with a planch of sorts 10 inches high in a doorway and increase the hight slowly and command and praise them when they scramble over it. Take damn good care that you or yours don't trip!. When they got the idea go and jump easy obstacles outside. Don't overdo it it has to stay fun.

have had a planch infront of kennel door for few wks now so have to jump in and out about 2f high.

but will take all advice onboard and try them all and see how we geton..
