ginga john 268
Same here Gaz, the wee fellas went on a safari and forgot to come home £ each to collect or £40 each if there chipped either way its a lot of money for a ten minute journey, good of someone to call the dog catcher but i cant help but think that if left they would have made it home anyway. so, £240 later and the fence is fixed, two days after away they are again, this time through a new hole chewed through the chicken wire that was part of the repairs, back within 3 hours covered in liquid organic fertiliser or sh#t as we like to call it around here. well a good go with the garden hose (fecking cold it is too) and plenty of washing up liquid saw them clean again but are now confined to quarters as not able to behave at all, just to add that the dogs are walked every day, worked when i get the time but just want to be at it 24/7. i am thinking of the electric fence option but may just spend the money on a pen so i dont have to let them out at all. regards GJ
Guest jbswildlife
We had that problem on the farm both dogs would get out and go hunting, but when we seperated them into their own pens (they could still see each other) if one got out or left to run the yard whilst the other watch from behind the safety of his pen, the first dog did not leave the yard. I think and its only my thoughts is that when you take several dogs out of a pen and of for walks they will associate when there together and free they go for a walk. but whilst only one is free he hangs about waiting on the others. skycat 6,173
I would think that by now it would have cost you less to build a run to shut the pups in! You're moaning about what it has cost you, but at least you got them back! Next time they might not be so lucky. Edited October 7, 2008 by skycat

You're moaning about what it has cost you, but at least you got them back! Next time they might not be so lucky. im saying its ridicilious that two pups could cost £55.00each to get them back from you own council that i pay £900.00/year to do f**k all. its easy to say pay £500+ for a run when i just moved into a new home with no funiture and i mean none no washer fridge all utensils beds everything. so there the facts pal prioritys at the moment are not on dog pens but its in the pipeline
borderboy 80
i'd say it ought to be a good deterent aswell... you will be more conscious of the pups whereabouts now...!

chartpolski 24,142
Our local council will come out and chip your dogs, free of charge. If the warden picks them up and takes them to the pound, they will return them, free of charge, the first time; second time they will phone you and charge £25 for you to get them back; pretty reasonable, I think !! Cheers.
