Jef66 0
Cut out a few little bunny sized silhouettes, then pace out 10, 20, and 30 meters. Stick them in the sort of places you are likely to see the real bunnies and get used to how they look at various ranges etc. hopefully this'll give you an easy way of gauging range depending on the size of the bunny. Jef66 0
Another trick that works well in areas you see quarry regularly is to get some wood, or sticks even and place range pegs at 10, 20 n 30 yards ect, that way you'll be able to range your target easily by simply lookin at where it is in relation to the nearest peg. I'm currently making some myself to peg out near the 2 warrens I camp out near Quote Link to post
cometa300s 20
sounds like a good idea jeff might try it myself Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
Good advice Jef have used the 'markers' idea myself in places I dont usually shoot. Good way is to use a ejected 12G cartridge on a stick just shows up a bit better. Bunnies dont seem to mind! Quote Link to post
spike 0
Look for landmarks in the field/land and pace them out from your sniping position(s) - obviouslywhen you aren't there shooting Are you okay with ranging in general? If not you can practice day to day - pick out a point & estimate the distance, then count the paces to that point. Not an exact science but can help with range estimation. Quote Link to post
