There would never though, be enough to obtain a majority vote for the return of hunting as it was. It really annoys me when some folk think that if the Tories get in they'll just get rid of the ban. When a new law is passed in this county, it's not just a simple matter of the ruling party coming up with an idea, and it becomes law. It has to be voted on by the whole of parliament, not just the ruling party. It was passed in the house of commons with 339 for, and 155 votes against. A law then usually goes to the house of lords, but the lords were warned that if they opposed it, the government would use the Parliament act to force the act through. Now, even if the Tories get in at the next election & propose reversing the ban, who's to say that that the 339 MP's that voted in favour of the ban will change there minds? Granted, a lot of them will be replaced with Tories, and they may get a few more votes, but IMO it still wouldn't be enough. Anyway it's all old news now. Just get on with doing what you enjoy doing.
