JordKil 0
I have a 2 year old collie x springer spaniel. He's used for scenting out rabbits during the day for shooting and then lamping at night. There is one problem...when lamping and I spot a rabbit I can get within 3 feet of it but he starts whining excitably and I cant correct it as it scares away our quarry. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the lil bugger quiet? Quote Link to post
Guest hpool_hunter
exactly how far from the rabbit do you want to be when out lamping? , do you want to be stood on it Quote Link to post

JordKil 0
Well I'm no expert with lamping I just shine a light at the rabbit and it goes all dopey then I try and get close enough to setthe dog on it (he has killed a few but recently he's getting restless) I was considering another dog for a while and a lurcher sort of sprung to mind. I've seen some deerhound X lurchers in my local adds and was wondering what everyone's opinions would be on them. Would a deerhound cross be good enough?? (they're 8 weeks though lol) Quote Link to post
