I havnt been shooting air rifles properly for long only a year or so but shot them now and again all through my life, and been wondering what age you got to be to get an FAC and what i have to go through and the prices wouldnt mind jacking my S200 up to get that little bit more range and possibly bigger quarry dont htink ill jack it up enough for charlies just shooting range on bunnies because thier easily spooked on my permission, So anyhelp most apreciated Adam PS would the S200 be a reasonable and gun capable of taking 12Ft/lb +

fac for any rifle is 17 i believe don't quote me. you will need a gun cabinet, a police check, £50 for application (refunded if you are turned down), if you have a criminal record its hardly worth trying but if you a persistent and can prove you genuinely need this extra power then you should be ok. also the permission you shoot will have to be checked (if it hasn't already to see if it suitable for a firearm). hope this helps adam

Here in Hertfordshire you can hold an FAC at the age of fourteen.

 

I'm in the process of it all now trying to get a rimfire, just need my FEO to check the land out and if he gives the thumbs up i'm sorted.

 

PS It helps a lot if you are a member of a rifle club. And if you can find someone who already has an FAC who is willing to take you out and show you the ropes, you can put their name down as a mentor (if you have their constent).
