to produce a good single handed dog :icon_eek:alot of people seem to belive you should buy a pup in or breed a pup from 2 single dogs to have a chance at produceing a single handed dog!iv had and have dogs from doubled up very good working night in night out workers,talking to a freind recently and listening to alot of stories!i dont think it betters your chances that much wich you breed from imoa, iv known of good single dogs bred from doubled up dogs!whats your opinons and do you own a good single from 2 doubled workers

two non workers can produce a good single handed dog but how often does that happen ?....and the best single handed dogs can just as easy breed pure shite....

but i would'nt take a pup on from any breeding unless i knew for a fact that both parents were tested properly on there own...

mine are single handed dogs the dam would not look at a fox. the sire was single handed and did all quarry day and night.so i just think its how you bring them on. my bullx pup now iv never doubled up he just did it on his own.

might point though jd is this!you could go on for years looking for a single dog bred out of 2 single dogs!when 2 dogs running doubled up that are out night after night doing the job may just have the same chance of produceing a single runing fox dog!the effects of this have been seen on both sides over the years

The dog has to have it in him/her to begin with. Doubled up does mean "NOTHING"

But at a maximum two either for a pest fox, killing farmers game or bringing on a young dog...........but to a call a dog a fox dog it would have to do it single handed no matter what the situation.........but i would go for a pup out of two guaranteed single handed dogs no matter what the quarry you intend to hunt......fox.deer.hare. etc
