"chrony" as in chronograph and then you'll find out where you spend the next five years.............home or away :drink:

I reckon that is the most likely, also a worn sear will have the same effect but check the length of the mainspring, it is many years since I stripped and maintained springers but I seem to remember you had to remove a coil or two for some models otherwise the compressed spring is too large to allow the sear to engage fully. Either way you have a very serious problem that you best sort out sharpish.

Pete.

Have you got the correct spring for the rifle?

As said the trigger may need adjusting to cope with the pressure of the spring. Does your rifle have an adjustable trigger?

A chronograph is an instrument for measuring the output of a rifle. Letting you know weather its within the legal limit.

All ox springs do warn on the packet that they may take your rifle over the legal limit.
