hey this might sound stupid do you run or stand!!

 

when you slip the dog do you run after him to give him a lot of light to be safe or do you stand still with the lamp !!!

 

i have been out with different people who do both and was wonder what way do you do it!!

i do a bit of both as somtimes the quarry can go over a dip and dissapear

so i sometimes run to position myself with the lamp so as my dog has the

light to see the quarry!

i run incase the quarry goes over a hill and goes off the lamp

stand and lamp - but RUN when you hear the sound of the landowner/gamekeepers jeep ,

you do what you have to where i go lamping there are alot of dips so position is important so i would say i move whilst lamping

i normaly walk an lamp at same time,

but some times when dog goes towards brow of hill or somewhere you cant get the beam i run

i only run depending on the quarry and say if the pursuit leads over a hill etc and ofcourse if i see a 4x4 or blue flashing lights heading in my direction lol.

well, i walk as close to the rabbit befroe i think it is going to run and then slip my dog, if it oesinto a dip of some sort i try to lift the lamp over my head so thyat teh light reaches it.
