Daystate Air Ranger

Everyone has their own reason for wanting any gun, a perfectly valid reason is simply as you say...you just fancy one, and why not if you want it, but ..... I just don't see this one....

If you want a 12ft lb gun there are plenty just as good, if not better, and cheaper!

If you want an 80ft lb air rifle, with minimal shots per charge and ammo at daft prices you are bonkers, buy a rimfire, much cheaper and much better!!

Everything in between 12-80ft lb, there are better and/or cheaper options!

It's a lovely looking gun, but my guns are practical tools, they are for using, and I strugle to see anything I need to use one of these for!!

I know what you're saying Decker and you're right its a lot of money for a gun when I can do the same job with one alot cheaper.

The only thing I am looking at is shots per charge! I had a Falcon Raptor .177 Skeleton a few years ago and got totaly pissed off topping it up after around 65 shots. at that time I only had a stirip Pump and used to break my back topping it back up to around the 195 Bar mark, I enjoyed the gun and it did everything I wanted and probably would have kept it if there was a place nearer to me to get Divers Bottle topped up, but the nearest is a good 40 miles away...

I like the Rapids due to their shots per charge capabilities and I like this particular model of the daystate for the same reason but I'll have to see how the Money situation is later this year or earley next..

I'm not thinking of tweaking anything to 80ft/lb or whatever or as you said I would get a Rimmy or a HMR. a Decent 12ft/lb rifle producing decent shots per charge will do plenty for what I want it for, Plus my lad will get a good bit of use out of it without breaking his back charging it every 60 odd shots or pestering me to do it for him ;).......

Lovely rifle Jasp, the same as the Air Wolf but different  , I've got an Air Wolf and that's got an "X-Box" or summit inside the stock, my original intention was to get a Ranger which would have been a more straight forward rifle and done exactly the same job. That came to an end when my mate decided to sell his Wolf and I went for that

Nice one Al cheers for the info mate :victory:.

Is the Airwolf the one with all the state of the art Fandago electrics in the trigger , looks a cracking peice of kit but all that technical stuff scares the shit out of me!! I'm still used to the old BSA Airsporters and Mercury's ...

My lad has crazed me for many months to get one of the Daystates so one day I'll surprise him and bring a big grin to his face...

Yep that's the one Jasp, I'd say I get more pleasure from it than my old Rapid which I was very reluctant to sell on. I find the Daystate a real quality smooth weapon, shot count is high, very quiet and very accurate

im not 100% sure how you can say whats best because like for example. with my scorpion and scope i am just as accurate than with my mates s410 and my scope, they both load the same way etc etc so how can i say which one is better...
