Hello everyone. My name is Kev (Kevegg on account of the fact I keep chickens). I have been ferretting for about 20 years in which time I have owned 2 lurchers, the first one a deerhound/greyhound called Gem who died aged about 11 and the 2nd one a bedlington/greyhound called Meg who sadly died a couple of weeks ago. I have also during that time worked several whippets, borrowed from my wife when she wasn't dragging them round the country to various dog shows. One in particular (Fern) was an absolute natural and just seemed to excel at catching rabbits and was faultlessly obedient despite never having had any training other than how to walk round a show ring and stand still while been looked at by a judge. A truly once in a lifetime dog. I now currently own 3 ferrets, one elderly whippet bitch, a Parson Russell bitch (who is indifferent to rats, mice, rabbits, etc. but whose one desire in life would be to kill my daughters Miniature Pinscher, if only she showed the same enthusiasm to rats!). a .22 rifle and several shotguns. I shoot a few rabbits with the rifle and substantially more woodpigeons with the shotguns. I am a comittee member of the local woodpigeon club and am currently on the lookout for a Bedlington x Whippet or 1/4 Bedlington x 3/4 whippet puppy bitch. I have 2 daughters and have been married for 27 years and only in the last year or so has my wife finally got rabbit pie down to a fine art. Yours in sport. Kev.
