long nets of what??

hi lads whats the difference between a long net and a basket net etc which is my best bet, i want to place some sort of 50 yrd nets along a track but dont no which is the best??

 

also the best place to buy one and which poles etc, i no lads that use hazel....

i think your getting your terms mixed up

 

a tradditional longnet and a quickset net can be made from the same thing, difference is, a traditional net is put out and the poles added as you go.

 

a quickset has the poles already fixed to the net, and its held in a basket, and put out/fed from the basket

 

basket net is just that, the net fixed on the basket, that holds your longnet/quickset

thats a more smaller holed net, much like sparrow netting, to stop the net that its holding, from falling through

thats sometimes referred to as the kill zone, or "the bag" as in bagging, a 50yd longnet would hopefully have 100yds of net on it, so when stretched out, its got "bag" in the net, a bit like your mums net curtains, also the height of the net, if stretched out would be about 4ft, but its set around 21" on the poles, giving "bag" in both directions
