Lennard 10
Dear all (American members!), The anti-hound hunting crowd has discovered coursing in California, made effort to get it banned and quickly came up with a bill: http://iteamblog.abc7news.com/2006/02/anti...omment-14626763 Be aware and take action, write your congressman, get the issue in the open in a polite and responsible way! Kind regards, Lennard Quote Link to post

madra 0
Lennard, I do not know if the coursing dogs in california use mussles. I know mussles take away from the "true sport" in most doggie mens eyes, but it can be argued that it is the "politically correct" compromise to have. Here in Ireland, the organised official coursing meetings all have mussled dogs (as a rsult of the antis in the 1980s) and it took the wind out of the sail of the antis, and left the politicians with a compromise to satisfy both sides. Each person has their own view on mussles, and without offending any person, coursing is still legal in Ireland where in Britiain it is banned. What would you prefer - coursing with mussles or no coursing at all ? For the record I am not an anti and have a number of coursing and track saplings, a lurcher and two terriers. But at least we can still can go to coursing meetings - which are strongly supported by our friends across the pond. It is easy to be hard line and run the risk of loosing all, but play these b*****ds at their own game and give a little (mussle) to retain alot (your coursing). Let us know how you get on. You have a fight on your hands now. Best of luck. Quote Link to post
