shotgun willie 0
sorry Grant i could,nt help that one, about 20 years ago a friend of mine was snaring land of a farmer in Co Kildare for foxes which were a very big problem at lamb killers and one night when he checked his snares he found a linx in a snare,i didnt beleive him when he told me but i did when he showed me it,i think he still has the pictures of it so i will get them off him and post it on here,
richard25 0
I am like you grant, i was quite the skeptic but just seen to many odd little things lately I would not rule them out. But the obvious question is what type of cats are "we" seeing & obviously this must mean then that they are mating & having litters so this then means we have our own native species of cat ( other than the scottish wild cat that looks like a normal pussy cat ) I think it would be totally visable to have them producing litters but then you have to think why the hell has no one got any real good proof todate of a large wild big cat in the uk. I have been looking into this for a while & seen some research with a skull found & a couple of videos but there not 100% atleast the vids anyway, but during some research i was looking at domestic cats & there are some reasonably large pet cats like savanahs which when adults weigh about 40 pound so could we be seeing pet feral cats that over a couple of generations have just grown to fit there habitat, obviously to to panther size but like lynxs etc maybe they have even mated with some small non native species, then you start to look at how large a wild cat area is & it can go upto several hundred miles which is quite big to say the least... its possible though & farmers aint making up all those kills, alot of sighting are along old railway lines. Who knows & will we ever until someone brings some good proof.... Good topic though Where abouts in the country did you spot this cat grant? i have been trying to make a map up of reasonable sightings. at the risk of sounding crazy, whenever i go wild camping in secluded spots i allways see odd signs that get me thinking... i would love to go on some kind of expedition to really find out for 100% if there are big cats out there but it would take alot of people ( probably a forum full hint hint??? lol )

swanseajack 227
well ill probably take some stick about putting this up but iv heard stories and some people i know have told me theyve seen a big cat, i was 50/50 on wether to believe it, but when we were out doing cubs with the terriers we were walking along a barley field not long sown and seen big prints they were just bigger than my clenched fist and the prints were about a foot to a foot and a half gap this kind of swayed me to bellieve the stories id heard, well last night i was out lamping was a good night i shot 3 foxes, but we were lamping away and came out a field opened the gate and out onto a country road i seen eyes infront of me i wacked full beam on and there it was ran up the side of the road for about a second then shot across the other side and into a wood, jet black cat comparisin to a dog i would say roundabout a labrador size, so as iv seen it with my own eyes i know they are about, i was with another 2 people aswell so this isnt a fairytale, so whos seen 1 then? who doesnt believe about them? have you been mushroom picking..
