stopping the fly's ???

Recommended Posts

flies wil be naturaly attracted to them because they smell lol...

i had a bad problem but go on flebay and type in milk bottle fly trap. there is one which somes up which really works well and catches only blue bottles(well it did for me) you get 2 in a set. also i got some fine mesh and put it over the cage and that stops them..

all the best mate

Like everyone has said feed them after the heat of the day has gone,i keep mine in a court outside and just feed them like everyone has said and get no probs. You will never get rid of all the flies but simply taking away the left over meat in the morning will help loads.

as stated, feed once its dark, and remove leftovers the next morning, ferrets dont tend to sleep all night, and the soon learn when feeding time is,

the jam jar idea is good, but of course you'll end up with a jar of maggots, easier idea is an empty coke/pepsi bottle, drill a small hole in lid, stick a couple of spoonfuls of honey in, diluted with around 1/4ltr of hot water, swiss it around and hang up on outside of cages/courts etc, you'll find it catches both flies and wasps

what everyone has said are the ways mate, feed later take out int he morning etc, i recently built a new hutch and went for mesh i seen this small square mech i dont know what size it wis be maybe 5mm sq and once i built it i notices most bluebottles cant get in iv seen a few squeezing through but its took them a bit to get through and iv hardly seen a fly inside of the hutch, use the other methods but this could be a deterant it doesnt stop them completely but it aint as easy as bigger mesh.

Feed at night take the remain's out in the morning and a Sterling Fly Bag from killgerm at each side of my hutches and i wash down the slabs where the ferrets are with bleach every week stops the smell
