andy s410c 61
Dragged me ass out of bed to get up to the top quarry for 9,ish to see how the mixy's spreading .Arrived to a overcast sky & cool breeze.Got me kit sorted & had a look through the binos..very quiet on the quarry walls & bottom I headed off into the small wood for a stalk, plenty of songbirds darting around & then i heard a "chack, chack" of our friend the magpie.I sat tight at a base of a tree next to the waterhole & i could hear it getting closer, eventually it was right above me gobbing off but i could'nt get a clear shot,i moved very slowly to see if i could get a clear shot through the foilage but the f r saw me & did one . I stalked through the wood & bagged one rabbit who was in the first stage of mixy.I sat for a while watching the songbirds & i heard a jay screeching away i managed to spot him & he also spotted me & did one,not that i would of shot it anyway. I decided to go to my sniping spot in the quarry corner as the nettles had dropped away nicely. As i sat for a while i saw a green flash land i grabbed the binos & ended up watching a green woodpecker foraging away around the quarry wall for ages.I bagged one rabbit from this position after a couple of hours the rabbits just were'nt around perhaps they can sense their plague is around them??Think i'll be putting the gun away in the next fortnight & getting ready for the ferts....
