Rabbithunter 456
Okay, so im looking at going 4x4 in the new year...... I first looked at the frontera, as it was cheap. I then looked at a trooper, 3.0 diesel DT.... the last time i got insurance quote for one of these, it was over £1500.... but just got quote for £600ish So the next biggest factor i think about is fuel consumption. Anyone know roughly how many miles i will get for my money Cheers
hagar 5
leave fronteras alone the trooper does around 26 mpg unless you boot it or drive round town ive had a few different 4x4s and my terrano2 is the best mpg ive had so far about 32mpg , for insurance liverpool victoria are good for 4x4s hope that helps
Rabbithunter 456
think all leave the trooper's along then Thats 100 miles for over £20 with diesel cost at the moment

chester 147
stay clear of the 3.0l trooper mate the engine's a fecking dog if going for a trooper go for the 3.1 .as for mpg 95 quid to fill it and you will only get 475 miles to a tank.
shamus 36
i've got a 3.1 trooper, about 25mpg.Insured fully comp protected with 7 yrs n/c with liverpool and victoria for 180 a year.as said earlier the 3 litre engine is a disaster, the 3.1 is bulletproof, mines done 200,000. Kat 3
I have a 3.0L Duty on an S plate and it runs like a dream and fuel wise about 25 ish but the parts can be expensive. This is a useful forum for Trooper knowledge and info http://www.itocuk.co.uk/forums/index.php?s...995053b620c95e1 This place is good for parts for most 4X4's at good prices, have used them a lot http://www.milneroffroad.com/default.asp
top terrierman 90
had a 3.1 tooper held it and got a 3.0 tooper had noting but trouble with the 3.0 only had it a year was more times in the garage then on the road so back with the 3.1 i would have it any day then the 3.0 stay away from the 3.0 mate get a 3.
