Okay, so im looking at going 4x4 in the new year......

 

I first looked at the frontera, as it was cheap.

 

I then looked at a trooper, 3.0 diesel DT.... the last time i got insurance quote for one of these, it was over £1500.... but just got quote for £600ish

 

So the next biggest factor i think about is fuel consumption. Anyone know roughly how many miles i will get for my money ;)

leave fronteras alone :thumbdown: the trooper does around 26 mpg unless you boot it or drive round town :whistling: ive had a few different 4x4s and my terrano2 is the best mpg ive had so far about 32mpg , for insurance liverpool victoria are good for 4x4s hope that helps :thumbs:

i've got a 3.1 trooper,about 25mpg.Insured fully comp protected with 7 yrs n/c with liverpool and victoria for 180 a year.as said earlier the 3 litre engine is a disaster,the 3.1 is bulletproof,mines done 200,000.

got one rubbish for 20 u will get 65 70 topt at a full driveout but got land rorver dicio on k tax and test for farm use only call jim on 07747072028

I have a 3.0L Duty on an S plate and it runs like a dream and fuel wise about 25 ish but the parts can be expensive.

get a discovery, I get about 500 miles to a tank around town and with teh NFU I am £350 fully comp for anyone over 25. Parts are cheap as well.

DEFENDER td5 30mpg if drivin like a little old lady 3 ltr trooper rubbish engine worse engine management parts availability very dodgy pals waiting for ecu for 7 months izuzu have now supplied a hire car until ecu is supplied what does that tell you ! NFU GOOD DEALS ON L/ROVER INS.
