Norwegian Beauty!!!

hiya guys hows you all?

im currently working on an oil platform the Gulfaks field in norway well big differences over here in conditions far better than working in the uk .......

on top of which you are allowed to fish from the platforms over here!!!!! :notworthy:

 

well couple o the norwegian guys im working with are big fishermen and asked me if i wanted to join them hell yeah!!!! but unfortunately i didnt catch this bad boy.......came in at 25 KILOS!!!! NOT LBS!!!!! AND 159CM LONG :icon_eek:

now this is by any chance a one off....they are catching fish this size regularly.... an hours fishing i had 4 saithe and not one below 12LBS!!!!

 

think this is a ling anyway my 2 norgie buddies with it

this thng was quickly filleted up and half put in the freezer for going home the rest abunch of us had it cooked up by the chef in the galley......superb!!! :victory:

Thats a great fish sauer, yep looks like a ling. What did it taste like.

absolutely superb chess mate!!!! :victory:

 

this place is unbelievable you go into the supermarket and you just bout keel over with the prices of stuff and dont even look at the alcohol prices yed die!!!

 

but see the price o fish!!!!!! jesus salmon steaks for next to nowt.

 

out here on the rig fish is plentiful and had king crab last trip out...wow better than lobster!!!! found out our local cosco does it boxed for 14 quid im buying some.

massive salmon fillets regular on the menu and its better than any ive had back home including restaurants!!!!!

 

pullin up saithe at between 12-15ilbs average out here same with pollock.... the rigs have little gutting prep tables with water hoses and clingfilm and filletig knifes and vacuum packers....prep yer fish then they have freezer just for the boys to put stuff in ....

day they come home they just throw it into their kit back and take it home!!! :victory:

yup was out in stavanger and for a bottle o carlsberg worked out 6.40 quid :thumbdown:

 

some local beer which works out just over half pint is a fiver but the stuff is like sewer water AND full o chemicals wake up afte a glass with an axe in middle o yer forehead!!!!!! and it smells like someones 3 day old arse!!!! they just dinnae do good lager never mind try to find an ale or dark beer!!!

 

as for spirits voddy etc......you dinnae want to know....35 40 quid a bottle
