borderboy 80
I'm after a little advice, as some of you may have read i've got a pretty deep cut on my thumb, from a stanley knife. I went to A&E after i did it to have it cleaned and have some steristrips applied, the problem is its on my left thumb and i'm left handed, so i need it to heal up quickish... its giving me hell at the moment... does anyone know of anything i can use to help proctect and heal it...? Thanks Charlie
SNAP SHOT 194
spray on skin, bandaid are making it at the minute i think, its breathable, and keeps the dirt away from the wound leading to quick healing, failing that use breathable steristrps and pads........clean in a saline solution....... Used to use it on my greyhounds to harden their pads and seal any nails that had been cut to the quick.Dyed there feet brown but you may be correct about purple.I do believe when 1st applied it was a kinda purple colour.God thats stretching mny memory back now lol Used to dab the cut or infection with hydrogen proxide then pottasium permangnate.Worked a treat.Even used it on myself on the odd occasion by f**k proxide stings, but you can actually see and hear it fizzing the dirt out. mattydski 560
I have in desperation use super glue in the past, especially on clean knife cuts. You take the risk of infection though, So it has to be clean.

Guest hyperion
super glue only really works on fresh wounds be it is good to stop bleeding and getting crap in the cut! best thing to do is wash it in mild salt water a couple of times a day! cheers
