Ive ben in some woods that i no have lots on lots of woodies in whats the best trap to use and do you put any bait into them if so what? also how much could a good trap cost or is it better to make one ( i am handy with my hands ) cheers folks...

funny you should say that, a live catch trap, baited with pidgeon corn or simular, made this large one for a job at work, 8ftx4ft

and the smaller one for myself

cheers for the onfo by the nice trap, i not been funny but how does it work do the woodies stand on a spring trap and can not get out, with having 1 woodie in the trap not put off others from going in and ending up in a pie ...

see the wires with the blue tops, they are bobwires, hung from top, not fixed at bottom, with corn inside trap, pidgeons being hungary buggers, push to bobwires inwards as they walk in, but then cannot walk out again, simple put

Just a reminder that anyone trapping or shooting Woodies must do so accordance with the General License (see top of the section). You should read it, understand which license applies to your situation and ideally have a printed copy with you.

 

You can of course eat any woodies that you cull and in my opinion that's morally the right thing to do. However hunting them for the purpose of eating is illegal.

 

It makes little practical difference but if challenged you must know what you're about.
