Lurcher Permission

Recommended Posts

Best off going round the farmers house at a reasonable time like when hes not milking or having food or doing farm business, and ask if you can go ferreting by that way when you go ferreting ask him to go with you and he will remember you're face and then asking him about lamping by then he should trust you with his land and should let you got lamping.

Its very hard to get permission and youll get more people say no then yes but just arrive at a socialable hour dress decent dont go wearing full camo or tracky bottoms and a hoody lol and just be polite and it might help if you get your self a game licence aswell mate.

sound advice - -work your way in. Alot of farmers are nervous of lurchers - epescially if theres a shoot on the land, with vunerable poults.

I started off over 15 years ago with permission on a 22 acre horse paddock, over the years we copped for the adjoinging farms and through word of mouth this steadily increased by the year. now we've got 19,000 acres to run over plus another couple of thousand to look at next week and a paying job on an esquiste golf course.

Permission is very hard come by...and very easy to lose.

Play the game, do a good a job, respect livestock and boundaries and gift the farmer with a bottle of his favourite tipple at christmas, and you will eventually reap the rewards - it often seems like an uphill struggle - but the best things come to those who are prepared to wait - and act responsibly - goog luck

i know it sounds stupid to go round a farm dressed up but it works.dont go round in your chavtastic burbery bollocks or looking like an escaped con(which i usually do).i,ve found that if i call in after work in my uniform (no i,m not a copper)which includes shirt and tie i get a lot more positive response.also name dropping is a good one ie other farmers who are happy with your work or other huntsmen

Very Hard....

My mum went to her friends house today.

Her friend also had her dad round.

They were all chatting when they come onto the subject DOGS.

Mum tells them i want a lurcher puppy for working.

Then my mums mates dad turns round and says 'When he gets the dog ring me, Im uverun with rabbits'

Turns out he owns a farm and used to shoot themhimself but no longer does.

The population has just kept grwing now they are over run.

So i got my permission now just need my Puppy.
