chess 0
Have been feeding the bottom corner of a flooded barley field for the last week. Had come upon it in the jeep headlights and saw a few teal get up. Plenty of feathers about and the water was dropping all week so we had to get at it last night. We were right under a flight line for Greylags and we watched maybe 1000 come over two gun shots high as we settled in. As usual the first lot of teal took us by suprise, creamed over the decoys, stood on their tails at our shots and were gone. For the next 40 minuites we had superb shooting, most of the teal were too fast for us, we dropped 4. We ended up with 3 mallard, an immaculate drake Gadwall in full plumage and my first wigeon, a real suprise as the dog brought it back, dont get many round here, we are well inland and its early season. Good shooting everyone. Regards Chess

chess 0
Well the water had been dropping all week and there was real danger it was going to disappear so we were out last night, id fed the splash heavily all week and had chucked in about £30 worth of barley Anyway we were rewarded with a cracking evening, mallard came early, followed by packs of teal, 10 at a time. There were some smallish duck mixed in, probably wigeon but we never got onto them. End result between 3 of us 14 mallard and 8 teal. Shot about 90 cartridges between us and reckon we saw 150ish duck
