Guest JohnGalway
I've owned a 3.5-15x50 and a 5.5-22x56. Buy the 5.5-22x56, just do. The reticle on the 3.5-15x50 I had wasn't right, I think it must've been a compact version or something. It was too feint, you could see the crosshairs or you could see the fox but don't try doing both because you'll lose the crosshairs in the background. I've also shot using another 5.5-22x56 so I can vouch for two of those. I can't say whether I'd buy another one or not, I've not seen other top end optics under field conditions, not had the oppertunity yet to road test them. But the NF will do what you need, and do it very well. Quote Link to post
dwighet 1
I wouldn`t use anything else for longrange shooting... The target turrets are great and each click is both audible and has a possitive feel to it when dialing in.. I have a 5.5-22x 50 on my 223 and its there to stay. As Remmy said there are brighter scopes such as s&b,sworo, ect but as far as durability and reliabily goes.. The nightforce is the go.... Quote Link to post

Honesty only required from genuine owners please! Cheers I have a NXS 12-42x56 on my 17 rem, 2 NXS's 5.5 - 22 x 56 on both my 22.250's and a Swarovski 6-24 x 56 on my 6.5 x55 To be honest I think the optics are brilliant on the Swarovski but having said that I would never get rid of the 3 NXS's. If I were to fault them it would be the fact that they are fiddly when it comes to altering the illuminated reticle brightness Peter Quote Link to post
rob reynolds uk 3
i have the nxs nightforce 8-32x56 np2dd ret best money i ever spent .spotting a rabbits head out to 500yrds is easy ,hitting it is another thing you cant hit what you cant see ..just turn your power down to 12x or 14xmag at night .. Vegeta 0
I have an NXS 12-42x56 with NP-R2 I think it is reticle. Great scope but the image contrast is crap compared to lower mag and other branded scopes. Image is clear and sharp just very washed out colour wise, not the best thing for early morning or late evening shooting. Lower mag scopes could be better but I have no experience with them Quote Link to post

sorel-2007 0
Doesn't matter who you buy it from. Just buy one. I've had mine for three seasons and just about to start the fourth. Wouldn't change for anything else. SUPERB. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Thanks for all the responses..seems that most are fairly contented!! Unfortunately my plan of getting one from Mexico (....it's a long story) has fallen apart, as they are not available there except by special order with a lot of paperwork taking up to 8 weeks to arrange..so I will have to look at other options.. Cheers all Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
Mexico???????????????? They sometimes come up for sale second hand, mostly on the BBS. Could be worth a watch, mind you the 5.5-22 I would think are the most popular version for hunters so it could be a wait. Quote Link to post
