Funfuret 1
A picture's worth a thousand words I wish I could regularly get chicken backs. Mine love 'em and the bones are a good size for them to crunch on. Edited September 27, 2008 by Funfuret Quote Link to post
mooster 1
Sounds like your parents have already warned you about the next 8-9 years of cleaning, buying food and bedding, handling daily, finding someone to do all this when you go away, want to go out with your mates etc etc etc....they live a long time mate so be very careful!!! Well done for seeking advice first though, maybe leave it for a bit and find someone who will let you borrow/look after their ferrets now and then. Good luck Mooster. Quote Link to post
odin88 0
Hi all, first time on the forum, hope i`m putting this message in the right place. Its to do with feeding my ferrets. I have a hob an a gill both around 4 months old. I fed them dry ferret food which they have access to 24/7 and maybe every second or third day i give them chicken wings. Read somewhere you can feed a ferret anything which you can legaly shoot. Just wondering if pigeon was on the menu for them and whats the best way to feed it to them ie can i just shoot it and throw the whole bird in their hutch or am i better cutting it open or even into bits? Hope ou can offer some advice. thanks. Quote Link to post

will.f11 24
Mine always have access to dry ferret food and in the evenings I give some type of meat. then remove the remains 1st thing in the morning. They will need cleaning daily and the best form of bedding I have found if you have no access to straw is shavings for both sleeping area and eating and excersise areas. If you clean out the shit corner everyday, and then the rest weekly. My Old friend feeds his on bread and milk but hes stuck in the old days and although his ferrets are healthy I dont recomend this. although his strain of ferrets have probably not been fed much else Quote Link to post
Jef66 0
Thanks guys. Yea I have read about them and i seen that you should feed them bread and milk.I will read up on them abit more first. Anyone know anywhere cheap for ferret finders? Where the hell did you read that, so I can add it to my list of books that talk utter bollocks Quote Link to post
Bevwallis 7
Ours are fed raw only, alternated beween rabbit, chicken wings, carcusses and fine mince with bone. They are fed mid afternoon, the meat leftover taken away first thing in the morning . They appear to be happy and healthy and i guess that is what counts Quote Link to post
