sikastag_1 689
before i always waited until 5-6 months but iv got a big hob now who will be 3 and a half months and iv got him out working hes shifting rabbits and if they dont shift there dead so it depends on size really matefor me i also have his sister same age obviously but she aint been out and wont be for about another 6 weeks along with my other young jill around the same age but iv got another young hob there around 9 weeks in a month or so if he turns out big and it looks like its going that way ill probably take him along so depends on size and maturity really. wabbithunter_15 0
to be honest its up to you, i started them around 4-5 months , i think the more experience you have and the ferret has, the better a hunter youl become Quote Link to post
Scallywag 78
Thanks for that. I'll start the hob first then, he's much bigger and harder than the jill. Quote Link to post

As long as they let you pick them up and not dodging back down the holes get them working. It can take a while for young ones to start working proper,A lot of people on here with young and no older ones have a frustrating time ahead so good luck and be patient. mikeyboy 7
start them now mate i would. if you got any older ferrets let them go down with them if not just find some nice easy burrows put them on floor stand back and let them find the hole they want. i don't even use nets just let lurchers do it atb mike Quote Link to post
