hunting with the ferrets

I was just wanting to no seeing as i am new, if i was going to take the ferrets out say on saturday early morning when should be the last time i should feed them, also what should i have give them for there last feed ...daft question but i thought i would ask.

 

on another note i feed my 2 female ferrets on milk and eggs, pigs liver and the ferret nuggets is this ok or is there any esle i could use cheers.....

sounds good diet mate but may be cut out the milk

ok, i use 2 egg and beat them with the milk should i try putting just the eggs in whole in a bowl and let them crack them open...

crack them I do. I just give them 1 or 2 a week. mine live off rabbit and dried grub.

I have also feed them rabbit, but when i start and ferret soon, whats the best way to give them a rabbit i mean could i gutt it first and just put in in whole or skinn it do you know what i mean, cheers

If i was going out on a saturday morning i would put a gutted rabbit in the hutch on a friday night ,And watch the liver too much is bad for ferrets

If you gonna use milk use soya or goats.As for eggs just give them the yolk.Just gut the rabbit and throw it in mate.Take it out in the mornin what they dont eat.

cheers will they eat a canny bit of the rabbit i hope they dont eat the eyes, do i cut the skin open to help them sort of peel it....?

if your hunting on saturday morn, what i do is feed them well on friday night, then get up early in the morn and put and egg in a dish with a dab of milk and warm in the microwave for a few secs, goes down a treat and warms them up ready for the day ahead:)

First thing my hob does is dine on the eyes mate.Just peel open the skin at the belly and take out the guts.Ferts will soon do the rest.

Just feed as normal. If you dont feed they are more likely to stay with a kill IMO but if you feed normally the night before so they arent all full and sleepy then that should be fine good luck

lol. its just if they eat too closely before hand they may be a bit dopey as they like to sleep after meals. ATB and good luck
