scent 509 Posted September 22, 2008 Report Share Posted September 22, 2008 im lookin for some feedback here if possible.When lamping a fox do you leave the lamp on the fox while you call them in or switch the lamp off and then call the fox in.Personally iv seen many methods used ,i usaully shine the light in front of the fox with the filter on while calling and when the fox gets close i slip the dog and take the filter off and give it full beam ,any feeback appreciated lads Quote Link to post

I don't shine it directly at the fox I point it to the side of it but I can still see the fox's eyes in the side glare of the beam. I keep the filter on even when it's in range and keep calling even after the dogs slipped, this allows the dog to get closer to it before it gets spooked. When it turns the filters flicked up and then the fun starts. Quote Link to post

joe cash 0 Posted September 23, 2008 Report Share Posted September 23, 2008 When im calling i leave the lamp off with the filter on it and shine it in front of me for a second to see were he his ,then when he gets in range slip the dog and remove the filter and keep calling this works for me but it all depents on how well the fox has been lamped before.
