sean.t 0 Posted September 25, 2008 Report Share Posted September 25, 2008 the man i hunt with said he caught his biggest hare years ago. he said when he was carrying it home he held its legs over his shoulder and the hares ears were still touching the ground. this man is in his sixtys and has caught just about everything that moves so he has no need to lie to me ive herd of this before aswell the hill hares can grow to this size but are always very light compared to the others usualy full of worms Quote Link to post

A lean and fast dog, jumps, retrieves (more or less) and very game. I'll try to get some fresh pics... The largest one I put in a bag was a tad over 9lb, but it was taken with a wee 16 bore. Fife bred hare it was. The ones down in the borders dont get much above 8lb. Quote Link to post
