been out tonight for about 2 hrs as well as this morning for 4 hrs totall caught today 37 rabbits in totall and a fox,iam gettin out at least once a day it could be lamping are daywork somtimes twice,my catch rate has to average 150 rabbits a week and a few foxes :wallbash::wallbash::gunsmilie: is this to much???????????would your dog spew :whistling::whistling: will mine??????? the dogs are runing the landrover 3 times a wk and catching at the side of it doing approx 7 miles its some going for my breeding but the black bitch wants more shes a pain in the arse for runing she loves it,anyway some pics of tonight mark

I had 30 years of lamping,i was addicted to it,it must have cost me thousands in days off work and fuel, iwould go anywhere ,at any time ,[moon and weather permitting],i had some very good bags of rabbits and sometimes no rabbits, but i allways enjoyed it.Then one day compleatly out of the blue it turned into work, and that was that.Iam now addicted to snareing, and thats much worse.Just to set the cat among the pidgeons the best dogs for lamping in my opinion, are bedlington or collie greyhound crosses,no dog will catch a 100 rabbits in a night , and todays lamps are to bright.micky.

well i agree with what you said there 100% about the turning into work,i dont want big nus what can i do with them??????????i do agree with the lamps bein to bright for big nus i would rather see my dog run and know were ever you shine that light being over 5 barred gates thick hedges in between livestock are 300 metres down a beam my dog will go no question asked thats why i like the big lights its not about numbers to me i can go out tonight and easily get 100 rabbits but no way will i want em and no way am i killin for the sake of it,,now snaring to me its not my kettle of fish it serves a purpose and stops there in my book, and the cross of dog you mention well thats my cross both mine are them, cheers mark

Yeh well, I like to get out as much as possible too.

I keep on asking lamping mate of mine to go for a drive out on his permission, but you always hear the same old stories...............

My legs hurting after last night.......? :icon_eek:

The miss's says I have to stay in......? :icon_eek:

Well I got ONE last week on the lamp and that was more than enough for me, improved my dogs catch rate by 50%.

Wishing you night walkers all the best.......

Im out most days of the week, If I fill my rucksack (nicknamed "death bag" :D ) each time I am out then Im happy with that, it soon tallies up  For example last week I had 18 rabbits, 1 brown hare, 13 Mountain hares and a pheasant. hopefully this week I will match that or better it, only been passed my test 2 weeks this Wednesday and allready the car is full of the smell of death :clapper:

Everyday either on the lamp or first/last light depending on what I've got on for the day workwise. Probably get 20 or so rabbits in a week. Not as many around as down your way mate. Is it the black one that my bitch is up against in the comp?

it surely is mate shes runin well but the brindle has a taste for other things at the moment and 6 rabbits is enough for her she wants other things bored with rabbits i think

I have seen a couple of mates dogs that seem to get bored of the rabbits. Reckon it could be the collie in them. What do you think?
