The soap wipes will remove greese from the metal thus making it exposed to moisture the causing it to rust....

The bst thing to do to prvent any more rust would be to get a cloth spray somthing like WD40 into it then wipe over the barrel (metal work)

If you can get hold of some little bags of silica gel [the stuff they put in boxes of electronic goods etc] and keep them in the gunbag, they suck up moisture like nobodys business. outta make sure the inside of the bag is as moisture free as poss. Try askin in a local PC shop or currys, thasts where i got the ones i use.

If the case is fleece lined it will sweat causing moisture on your gun causing rust.

Also, when you get home take the rifle out the case for an hour or so to let it "acclimatise"

If you put the rifle away in the gunbag/case without letting it get to about the same temperature as indoors or inside the bag, it will attract some condensation [even a teeny bit can be enuff to let rustspots start] If you bag your gun in a lovely fleecy bag and it gets all snuggly n warm moisture thats seeped into gaps or the like can 'sweat' out and start rustspots too.
