Businessman dies in gun rampageA businessman died after a shooting incident at his country home.

His wife was also shot twice in the incident which happened in a detached house in Cornwall.

A 23-year-old man was later arrested and is currently being treated in hospital for head injuries which are understood to be self inflicted. It is unclear whether his injuries were firearm related.

The man who died as a result of the incident was named locally as 41-year-old Adam Hustler, who runs a drain clearance firm.

His wife Amanda, also in her 40s, is being treated in hospital for her gunshot injuries. Their daughter Danielle, who was in the house at the time of the incident, is helping police as a witness.

Police were called to Porth Kea House, in Porth Kea, near Truro, Cornwall, just before 10pm on Saturday night following a 999 call. The caller said a firearm had been discharged, a Devon and Cornwall police spokesman said.

"On arrival officers found a man and a woman had sustained injuries," said a police spokesman. "Both injured parties were taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske, Truro ,where the man died of his injuries," said the spokesman.

Following an operation involving dozens of officers including armed police, the 23-year-old man was arrested at an address in Penzance, west Cornwall. His injuries were unconnected with his arrest, said the police.

Police said they had recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting, but gave no details of it.

Porth Kea is a hamlet of around 20 houses close to the banks of the River Fal, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The road through the village was sealed off by police as inquiries into the incident continued.
