wunwin 0
Ive always been a ferret, net and dog man. Love it as a sport, and always have. But this weekend, the wind was howling, the nets were tangling, and i was getting pissed off. As the farmer had just cleared the trees and bushes from the old railway bank, i thought i might try bolting rabbits to shoot them. A quick rturn home, dumped the dogs(very pissed off dogs) And out with the blunder buss. In 2 hours i had shot 11 bunnies, not bad. It was great fun, untill i got home and the dogs refused to greet me. Will i do it again? Yes, but only when the lurchers arnt looking Quote Link to post

doddsy1970 9
One of the places I do we use longnets to cut off their escape along the roadways and then shoot the ones that try to get across the field. It is a bank along side a main road so you have to be careful where the rabbits run but it contains more holes than i would ever be able to net its only about 6ft wide but about 300 yds long and it is one continuous bury. Weve only done it once this season and had about 50 rabbits out of it. I prefer ferreting to nets but it is a good bit of sport with some very challenging shots Quote Link to post
pegandgun 52
I prefer the gun to the nets unless its long nets, then its good sport.I hate putting purse nets on only to bolt one rabbit or even dig and no bolts. :realmad: Even better s to snare the little buggers Quote Link to post
