what the dogs doing is a disorder called Coprhagia ( sp ) & most vets argue over the cause & reasons for doing it but to be honest i have had a pup do this before & as long as you correct them when your there & quickly get them out of that habbit its no big deal.

 

do a google search on coprhagia & afew useful pages will come up

All you need to do mate is when the dog is eating shite find another and carry some nice hot curry power with you, when you see a turn next time sprinkle it on the shite the dog will try to eat it and realise that the shit is hot and will not like it, the dog will the assoicate shite with a nasty hot senation in its mouth and will soon learn, common phycology

I always thought it was too much protein in the diet, they can't digest it all and so eat the crap as it still contains a lot of protein. I've only known it in one dog (pet dog on high protein food) but in that case, dropping the protein in the diet worked.

My lab used to eat shite all the time. Tried the curry powder thing etc and never had any luck. I then used an elcetric collar and I swear after one or two days she doesnt dare think about it.
