benny 1 5 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Share Posted September 18, 2008 hello everyone my wheton bitch broke her back toe and it had to be amputated the vet said its better off if am going to work her i got her bak tonight shes sore its bandaged but there still blood comind frew the vet said it was ok just wondering if anyone eleses dog has had the same and still worked the same any comments welcome . darza 8 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Share Posted September 18, 2008 hope everything works out with the bitch benny1,1 of my dogs had his toe removed it was on 1 of his front feet hes been fine with it since no bother with it and hes been worked hard,i let him rest about 5 weeks then built the road work up strenthend the ligaments he was fine.the vets had done a good job on it. threbb 0 Posted September 19, 2008 Report Share Posted September 19, 2008 I have a dog with a dislocated front toe.The vet is trying a pinfire first.If that dont work it will have to come off but I would rather take a back toe off than a front.Its worth trying a pinfire first if you can find a vet that does it.They seem keen to take em off rightaway nowadays.
