merle24 61
quality pics as always wh is the gypsy bitch a hancock dog and storm is eh ? tbh im realy begging to think about one of these merle's from hancock iv seen alot of bad press about the boy etc but iv yet to see any merle that doesnt do the job and you dont realy see them available anywhere barr hancock . You don't get out enough kreet. Hancock might breed more merle lurchers than anyone else but he's certainly not the only person to breed them. Great pics once again WH. Great pics dogs looks well conditioned, as regards the hancocks strain of collie greyounds i think they are a safe bet for a all round general lurcher but i am a bit sceptical as regards the amount of working blood in the line as there is alot of them breed which i dont think have seen a great deal of work, but i surpose the collie has a inbreed instinct to chase and herd and is very trainable, i guess what iam am trying to say is that the hancock strain probably doesnt differ a great deal from the next mans self breed collie greyhound as regards working ability, if you want to find out about this type of dog read some of Brian Plummers books as it is very informative. p.s i think plummber started breeding these merle collie greyhounds due to the distinctive markings they carry, trying to keep the dog thevies away i surpose. I think the merle colouration was more likely used as it increased the popularity and therefore the value.............Or as chalky put it ................................ Quote Link to post
