pegandgun 52 Posted February 27, 2006 Report Share Posted February 27, 2006 Ive just finnished reading "A Bird in The Hand" by doxhope off this site.Its a book about young Bill who grows up in a Northumberland town surrounded by countryside and Birds.Bill introduces us to a hole host of old time bird trappers and breaders who show young Bill the ways of the Bird catcher of old.Its full of usefull info and tales of bird catching with nets,traps and lime. Its a hell of a read(i couldnt put the bugger down)and i would recommend it to anyone remotely interested in British birds. Its a credit to ya Bill Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Its a credit to ya Bill does the book tell u how 2 catch birds with traps , nets and lime and does it have pictures on the different ways of catching them.The other day i went out with a ringer whilst on work experiance who uses a mist net but we didnt have any look.
