TOMO 26,132
had another day out up there on our permission, the first farm we did proved to be poor , most of the nice easy warrens had gone and i mean gone , vanished with out a trace. we did get a few but it was slow work . so with 13 in the bag we moved on to another farm. the next place is the one we have hit a little hard already with the lamping. but theres still good numbers , and we quikly had 8 in the bag from the first warren. we used the 50 yard hemp longnet, but needant have bothered as Tara cought 7 from 7 befor they even reached the net, and im sure would have had the 8th. we carried on using both purse nets and the longnet deepending on the size of the warren, the ones that missed the net were being picked of easily by Tara who seemed to be on top form. we wanted tp pack up in the early afternoon to go round a few more farms for permission, of course this is when we got our first real deep dig. the locator red 4 foot , so we picked up all the nets from both sets , (ferreting 2 warrens at the same time) gutted all the rabbits, organised my little truck to fit evry tghing in . then sat in the truck having a pie and a cuppa. afer half hour she apeared. some of the other intersting stuff that happened today. bumped in to some other chaps ferreting on our farm , who permision, and on another of ours . the hunt were out exercizing hounds we think we have permision on another farm, all we be clear next week , a nice but strange chap , and finaly ,a doe roe deer used a foot bridge , to cross over the A1 motor way at about 5.30 pm . wich i thought showed a lot of intelagence. final bag was 42 heres a few pics. barn ferreting my tiney jill who was top form bolting today, and who killed at the end ferreting two warrens together Quote Link to post
